Sculptra is a biostimulatory injectable treatment designed to gradually restore facial volume and improve skin quality by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers that add immediate volume with hyaluronic acid, Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) — a biocompatible substance that works deep within the skin to rebuild the underlying structure over time. Results appear subtly and naturally, typically developing over several weeks after a series of treatments, and can last up to two years or more. It’s ideal for addressing age-related volume loss, improving skin texture, and creating a firmer, more youthful appearance that evolves gradually rather than all at once.

Sculptra FAQ

  1. How long does Sculptra last?

    • Sculptra results are long-lasting — typically up to two years or more after a full treatment series. Because it works by stimulating your own collagen, the results develop gradually and last longer than most traditional fillers. Some patients choose small maintenance treatments every year or two to help sustain their results.

  2. Does injecting Sculptra  hurt?

    • Most people experience only mild discomfort during Sculptra injections. The product is usually mixed with lidocaine, a numbing agent, to make the treatment more comfortable. You may feel a quick pinch or mild pressure, but discomfort is generally minimal and short-lived.

  3. Is there downtime?

    • There’s little to no downtime with Sculptra. Some mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the injection sites can occur, but these effects usually fade within a few days. Most people return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

  4. Are results immediate?

    • No — Sculptra results are not immediate. You may notice a temporary plumping effect right after treatment (from the water used to mix the product), but this fades within a few days. The real results appear gradually over several weeks as your body builds new collagen, creating natural-looking volume and firmness that improves over time.
